Alexandra Raisman
Aly Raisman was an American female gymnast. She was also a captain for her team in the US women's Olympic gymnastics The 2012 Fierce 5 team, and in 2016. She was named the Final Five. Aly Raisman was awarded three gold medals in the 2012 Olympics and the 2016 Olympics in London. She also took home a bronze medal on the balance beam. This made her the first American gymnast to compete at the Olympics to earn the most medals. In the 2016, Olympics she was awarded a gold medal in the team event, which gave her and teammate Gabby Douglas the honor of having been as the only Americans to have two consecutive teams gold medals. In addition, she won two silver medals, one for the floor exercise and the all-around individual. Between the two Olympics she took her time from competing to rest for three months. Her gold medal winning American team also won twice at World Championships. Her first experience with gymnastics began when she was two and her most favorite sport is exercises on the floor. Aly is a member of the Uniting Against Lung Cancer organization to honor her mother who died due to cancer. She plans to pursue a career in fashion and is looking to increase her line of signature leotards and socks later on. The book she is working on is entitled Fierce that will be released later this year.
